Who We Are

AYUDH or Awaken Youth; Unite for Dharma, is the international youth-centric initiative of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Founded on September 1st, 1985, the AYUDH movement has been focused on empowering young people to integrate universal values or Dharma into their daily lives, while also tapping the powerful force of the youth, to perpetuate natural harmony, social justice, and personal empowerment.

AYUDH is active in 40+ nations across Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa, and Australia, and is open to youth between 15 and 30 years of age, across all religions, genders, social and cultural backgrounds.

Internationally, AYUDH has a consulting status to the UN and has been represented in crucial political events of international governments and organizations, such as the First Forum on Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law in Geneva, Switzerland, etc.

  • Member of the UN Billion Tree Campaign
  • Represented in the European Parliament’s 10th Anniversary Celebrations in France – by three hundred AYUDH members.
  • Represented in the First Forum on Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law in Geneva, Switzerland.
  • Represented at the UN Youth Forum on the 60th Commission on the Status of Women in New York City.
  • Hosted Youth Meets in 23 states of India with participants from over 800 institutions.
  • Organizes the Annual Leaders Training Summit event with over 1200 participants from 23 states across India.
  • Has been providing Disaster Relief across the world through hands-on participation of volunteers and organizing of fund-raising drives.
  • Ongoing Community Outreach Projects in the areas of education, food, and nature conservation in India and all over the world.

AYUDH, is the youth-focused initiative of a set of global humanitarian initiatives founded by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi or ‘Amma’ as the world fondly calls her. Amma is a spiritual leader, humanitarian and visionary, and through a life of dedication & sacrifice, she has been serving the world-community for decades, imparting wisdom, strength and inspiration.

She has been living the life of an exemplary human being, demonstrating the extraordinary power and will, a human being possesses, to perform extraordinary acts and make a positive difference in the world. Her message is of unconditional love, acceptance and selfless service to all.

From climate change to terrorism, cross-cultural tensions to poverty and women’s rights, Amma’s observations invite each of us to get involved in the process of rebuilding a concerned and caring society.
